Defending your intellectual property

• Surveillance

  The firm provides trademark and domain name surveillance to enable its clients to act quickly in the event of disputed registrations.

  We also carry out customs surveillance to seize counterfeit goods.

• Oppositions and disputes

  The firm intervenes with the Moroccan Industrial Property Office (OMPIC) by filing oppositions against trade mark applications and by submitting observations to alert OMPIC about certain published industrial property rights applications which do not meet the validity requirements laid down by Law No. 17-97 on industrial property.

  SALMOUNI-ZERHOUNI & Associés also represents clients in domain name disputes, particularly in UDRP proceedings.

• Investigations and reports

  Drawing on its experience in the fight against counterfeiting in Morocco, the firm carries out field investigations to prepare counterfeiting and unfair competition cases.

  Supported by its network of bailiffs, the firm carries out purchase reports and Internet reports on behalf of its clients.

• Court proceedings

  In judicial matters, in collaboration with its partner attorneys, SALMOUNI-ZERHOUNI & Associés advises and assists its clients:

  • in saisie-contrefaçon (seizure) proceedings
  • in infringement and unfair competition actions
  • in litigation concerning the validity of industrial property titles (proceedings for invalidity or revocation).

• Arbitrage

  Highly regarded in this field, the firm is regularly called upon to assist its clients in arbitration proceedings. Partner Mehdi Salmouni-Zerhouni has been named industrial and commercial property arbitrator, approved by the Casablanca Court of Appeal and appointed by Ministerial Order n°233/2025. He is also an expert on the list of the Arbitration and Mediation Centre of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
